Last weekend, my friend Rachel Dickinson and I headed out to New York’s upper east side to shoot some photos for her blog. Rachel wanted a few new shots as she had just changed the name of her website from “Rachel the Stylish Wanderer” to “Rachel’s Stylish Life.”
Fresh from a trip to the Sam Brocato Salon, Rachel and I walked along Madison Avenue for a few street style shots. I’ve always really enjoyed shooting along Madison Avenue on the upper east side. It’s not quite as crowded as 5th Avenue, for instance, and the shops always seem to look good in the background.
We started out at the Carlyle Hotel and walked south snapping shots along the way. Usually, I might have brought my 70-200mm with me but for this shoot, I decided to use my 50mm 1.4, shooting wide open for much of the time.
