Behind the Scenes With Sarah Silver and the Stephen Petronio Dance Company

Recently, I had the opportunity to shoot behind the scenes photos for Sarah Silver during her photo shoot with the Stephen Petronio Dance Company. I met Sarah at an Adobe event announcing the launch of Photoshop CS5 a few years back, and have grown to respect and admire the work that she does. Needless to say, I was really excited to have the opportunity to not only shoot some behind the scenes photos for her, but to also interview her about it for Tuts+, as well.

Sarah has been shooting the Stephen Petronio Dance Company for the last 13 years. In fact, Sarah first shot the Stephen Petronio Dance Company for her graduate thesis at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) back in 2001. This was also a very special photo shoot, as this year, Petronio celebrated his 30th anniversary season, beginning April 8-13, at the Joyce Theater in New York City.
