Of all the places to shoot photos in New York City, Central Park is by far my favorite area to explore. Measuring 2.5 miles long and a 0.5 mile wide, Central Park is full of interesting things to see. Each area has its own history and character, and each part is full of diverse groups of people; tourists, locals, shoppers, athletes, families, couples, artists, and photographers all converge on the park during various times throughout the year.
During the year, the character of the park changes as well. In winter, the park is peaceful and silent, often dusted with snow. In the spring and summer, the park is full of life, greenery, and people. In the fall, the park shows its true glory and is full of amazing color.
Last year, I made it a point to document all of the park’s seasons with my photography. Whether I was stomping calf-deep through snow, in below freezing temperatures or picnicking with friends and family, chances are, last year you could find me in the park. Below, are a few of my favorite photos shooting photos in Central Park last year.
Just gorgeous.
Hi Grant, beautiful work. What lens do you use for the flower photos (tulips)
I used either my 24-70mm lens or my 105mm macro for those.
Very inspirational. I also looked at your 500px images. I am visiting NYC for the first time in a few weeks for 5 days and your locations, long exposures, composition have given me lots of ideas. Feel free to pass on any hints, tips or other website links to enhance my experience.
